Primary 1 and 2 marks the primary stages for a students’ formal learning of the Chinese Language and hence is a crucial period to mastering learning methods and developing healthy study habits. Therefore, Chinese language at this stage plays a crucial role.
Our curriculum is based on the Singapore Ministry of Education's (MOE) Chinese Language curriculum standards and desired outcomes for Primary schools as well as the research findings of the Mother Tongue Review Committee. Blending together elements of the current Primary school textbook, Happy Partners, our curriculum integrates knowledge with fun and practical elements to help students improve their level of Chinese proficiency.
Proven to be beneficial for memory retention, sight words are used to increase vocabulary memorisation and reading comprehension
Deeper review, consolidation and reiteration of the rules of Hanyu Pinyin and the Chinese glyph structure
Compelling stories retold vividly to spark their interest for reading and subsequently, enhance reading comprehension skills
Scenario-based oral tests will be carried out to improve conversational skills and situational assessment
Students will be taught various writing techniques and composition skills with the use of idioms and a wide list of vocabulary and interesting expressions
